Successful as this web site has been over the last seven years, the whole league system suffers from two major drawbacks:

Sending in nomination forms and match cards provides no guarantee that they will be received, even assuming that teams send them on time..

Allowing clubs to renominate teams whenever they like, along with not receiving match cards, makes the process of checking players and nominated orders almost impossible.

It has been decided that for the Winter Surrey Cup 2009/10, a new system will be used, the main features of which are:

	All results will be posted by teams onto the web site and match cards will not be sent in. However, the postcard style match cards will be replaced by the duplicate cards used in the summer league, to allow each team to keep a copy for reference.
	All results will be verified by the opposing team, thus ensuring that match points are correct.
	For the system to work, the away team will no longer be able to enter results. It is therefore the sole responsibility of the home team to enter them. If they do not, they will be penalised.
	The concept of a renomination will no longer exist. There will be a nomination for the first half and then a nomination for the second half. This information will be entered by the teams directly onto the web site.
