| Report: | The penultimate match and Purley still unbeaten this season. A good win as we were playing a man down as usual(we have only played full strength once so far this season) as Gayme Wilde cried off tom dick... probably poisoned by his dad Clint again.
On 1st was our very own Spook the Webbmeister who after a shaky start found his length(ooh er) steadied the ship and cruised to a 3-1 win. After dropping the 1st he looked out of sorts but we're getting used to his slow starts. The exact same result of their 1st match. On the other court was Little Stu vs Lofty Robin, another rematch of the 1st half which Robin had previously won 3-0. Stu started off strong and determined taking the 1st to one point. After taking the 2nd it looked as though it would be a whitewash, however Robin dug in deep and took the 3rd and began to turn the match around. The 4th could have gone either way, Stu saving 3 game balls and then having match ball only for Robin to come back and take the game. The 5th was edgy and at 6-5 to Robin he hit 2 framers and a blobbed roller out the nick mid court to make it 9-5 which put him firmly in control. After another fightback from Stu to 9-10 Robin had an easy volley to seal the match 3-2, great comeback. More to follow..... |
