Report: | A one-sided score line which does NOT reflect the evening’s entertainment and bonhomie. The enthusiasm that Freddie had chasing round the court, was surpassed only by his tenacity and dexterity in the way he attacked the after-match buffet. David Hurst had the good grace not to sport the crumpled shirt worn on his previous visit; however the replacement green garment (that we were later apologetically told had been used two days previously, and had been decomposing in his kitbag since) began, as he warmed up on court, to emanate a vile stench likely still to be offending club members for weeks to come. Frankly, none of us are at all surprised that Mrs H has flown the nest, seeking greener, and less “fragrant” pastures. Nick Webb put up a good fight with Ron and tried throughout although the scores don't reflect the effort he put in. Martin did well to make a fight of the 3rd but to no avail. Mark and Tito was the closest match both coming up with unusual gets some of Marks from a prone position on the floor. |
