| Report: | Surbiton's 1st home match of the season started off with the number 1's and 5's on court. James was too strong for Dan at number 5, the rallies were getting longer and longer in the 3rd game but Surbiton were 1 match down. Rory got Surbiton back into the match by winning in 5 games and keeping his 100% record of played 2, won 2 (both in the 5th...).
Next on were the numbers 2 and 3. The stalwarts of Surbiton were taking on Jason and Neil from Nuffield/Cannons/West Byfleet. After winning the 1st game, Mark lost 3-1 to Jason at 2. Dom started unlike Dom does and lost the 1st, he came back to win the 2nd, he went onto lose the 3rd but came back strongly in the 4th but lost it narrowly. Dodge at 4 for Surbiton played some of his best squash ever to lead Jamie 2 nil. But Jamie came back strongly to win in 5.
It was great to see Division 1 squash back at Surbiton and the match was played in good spirit with a special mention to the Surbiton home support and the supporters of West Byfleet who made for a fantastic atmosphere. |
