| Report: | The snow caused this match to be played over 3 days, with the number 2,3 and 4 strings playing on Wednesday evening, number 1's playing in Essex on Friday morning and the 5's were due to play at Surbiton on Friday lunchtime.
On Wednesday, Lloyd got Surbiton off to a great start at number 4, winning 3-1 against a gritty, determined Humberto. Dan at number 3 kept up his recent form with a very well fought match against James that Dan lost 3-1 but each game could have gone to either player. Dom at 2 started off like a train against Ben (Ben had to get the train from Essex to Surbiton due to the roads being in such a state) winning the 1st and being up in both the 2nd and 3rd games. But Ben got his retrieving game going and then started to force errors from Dom. Ben winning in the 4th eventually 10-8, having been 10-2 up!!!
Friday's matches were 3-0 to Esporta at number 1 and 3-0 to Surbiton at number 5. No match reports as the 1's played in Essex and Esporta's number 5 had to concede his match as he could no longer play!!!
Esporta winning the match 3-2, in what seemed to take a similar amount of time as a cricket test match to play...
Let's hope for a 5 a-side match on Wednesday evening next week???? |
