| Report: | 19-0 to Surbiton was looking on the cards at ten past 8 as only captain Wilde was at the club. Eventually the rest of the Purley team showed up!
On first were the number 3's and 4's. Mark won the 1st against Jamie but went down 3-1. Dan and Neil had a war of attrition on court, mainly due to the very, very bouncy blue dot like ball. The match went to the 5th game with Neil taking it.
Then on were the 2's and 5's. Harry beat Mark in the 4th but Mark on another night could have won. At 5, captain Hennings was on against the well travelled Olby. Olby was on a mission getting to some rediculous balls and being spurred on by his supporters, he took the match comfortably 3-0. Last on court were Rory and Chris, Chris ran out the victor in 3.
The defeat for Surbiton looks like it has ended there hopes of winning the league, so are now playing for mid table security.... |
