| Report: | Clearly a very close fought contest that was narrow won, by a very lucky Spencer team. After their opening two matches with Alex having stepping on Ron's ankle and deliberately injuring him, and excellent marking by the erstwhile Mr Ewin; Mark's remarkably unlucky loss against a labouring and clearly clumsy Dan, the home team were in a slightly dissappointing 0-2 position, Then our stirling wingman Keith stepped up to the plate, (the home team full of optimism and good humour) and was also dissappointingly to only get 6 points in the three games that mattered. The tie thus settled, we relaxed to watch the normally sprightly Nick (playing up for the dizzy height of the first team, for a treat) play more like his geriatric and portly father to lose 3-0. Oh dear. The baloconies then filled to watch Ted, take on the previously almost invincable Andy, and only allowed him one point. Ted's crisp striking and effortless retreaving proved too much for the usually upbeat Andy. 16-5 the result we retreated to the bar, Poor old Andy had to be kept away from sharp objects, but consoled himself with fourteen portions of pizza. Great evening chaps; we wish you all the best in the future (sereral leagues higher than this - please note Surrey!) |
