Report: | Vittorio demonstrated that clean living and abstinence provides an obvious advantage against an opponent who has chosen an alternative plan. Thanks for the run, Vittorio.
Keith and Dan both hard-itting left-handers, bashed the ball, but Dan’s younger legs, won the day in the 4th. Clark’s high lobbing serves and fearsome forehand winners sneaked past Paul, in a very closely fought battle, that deserved to go to five. Tubby Tel and a somewhat chunkier Chris than we met last time (obviously the Christmas break hasn’t done him any favours), played what turned out to be the match of the night, with Chris taking it in the 5th. Last on court were, Ted and Colin, who gave us a show to savour – outrageous retrieving, showboat dummies, and attention-seeking of the highest order (enough of the marker), a great game chaps. Thank you; and yes, Colin you did blow that game ball in the third! A super evening with all ten of us staying in the bar to the bitter end. Excellent sport!
