Report: | Terry with a return to form, bamboozled and frustrated the super quick Ben with a plethora of reverse angles, rarely hitting the front wall first; when asked what he had learned of the experience, the bewildered Ben replied later in the bar "not to play at Warlingham again" - oh the innocence of youth!. Meanwhile Mark and James fought out a close and strictly-marked match, which resulted in Mark’s first win of the season; oh how the balcony cheered!. Keith was too strong for the willing James; thus securing a rare but welcome home win. Ron and Rob blasted and blasphemed their way through a close second game, when the Tourettes and the lure of the bar became all too much for Rob, he succumbed unapologetically. Meanwhile Ted was giving a master class in how to look one way, and hit the ball the other. At one point the balcony fell about as Mark, having dropped his racket mid-rally, was handed it back by Ted and told to “RUN!”; the gallery laughed and applauded as Mark valiantly played his part. A great end to the season of which the band on the Titanic would have appreciated. Thanks Cheam, see you in the Summer. |
