Report: | A fine evening of squash and drinking, where with one notable exception, the fat gits mullered the thin gits. First up at 2nd string was the beached whale against Chris. After completely enveloping him in the first set with his mass of blubber, he was then well and truly "Beached". On court one the number 4's got off to a gentle stroll. Although none of our resident coppers were present, they didn't need to be, as no-one was going to get done for speeding on this court. After pulling back to level the sets, Mark had obviously shot his bolt as we had to wait between rallies for him to recover. He never really did and Nick ran out a comfortable winner. Next up were the number 5's where in a highly entertaining match the skinny highly honed athlete and clearly an ex middle distance runner, could not keep up with the deft drops, touches and verbal diarrhoea of a rather portly elder statesman. The balcony was full, mainly of jeers - very little cheers, as Eric called 1 in the 3rd and farted around on numerous match balls. Meanwhile on court 2 the 3rd strings were battling it out and the Big Woose, very unsportingly won in 3 straight. Can someone not tell him, the quicker the matches are over - the bigger the bar bill!! Finally the Prima Donnas at one took the stage. Anoerexic Annie against the "Tub". After the final rally of the 2nd set, Tubby was looking for the nearest heart and lung machine but must have been given a large scotch instead, as the player that returned for the 3rd set had no resemblence to the one that had left after the 2nd. Does he have a twin brother we all asked? After some fine rallies Tubby took a 2-1 lead and then comfortably ran out a winner in 4. Then on to the bar, where Mark and Nick moved much faster to the buffet than they ever had to the ball. A fine evening chaps - look forward to seeing you next year. |
