Report: | This was the last match of the season and after giving a team talk about how it was important to keep Woking on court for a long time, so as to keep the bar bill down, the team completely disregarded the skippers instructions. They are all sacked - with immediate effect. It was the highest bill of the season - No point in going into a match by match report, the scores more than tell the story although as an aside, Joe's score at 1st string was identical to the earlier fixture apart from the first game. Eric did his best to make the match last - but to no avail. Had to scrap around in the glove compartment of the car for loose change to pay the bar bill and this when Woking had all left by 10.30. How often do 5 matches finish before 9.00pm? Not sure what more to say except it was a bad bad night - I have had better hangovers. Best of luck to Woking for next season where no doubt the matches will be even shorter. |
