Report: | Warlingham were odds on for a quick 5 - 0 nil win when most unexpectedly Surbiton turned up. Drat. Jason was confused as he tried to anticipate were Gary was hitting the ball, but as Gary hadn't a clue either, this proved all very difficult. Ray went down 3-0 to Andre in a rather strange match, however, not as strange as Andre's accent. Mike's score suggests a one sided match - but it wasn't, strange evening all round. Hannah completely mullered Andrew in the knock up, and then in the game managed to completely muller the bottom of the tin from 2 yards out. This left the illustrious number 2's to complete the evening and by far the best match of the night. Deft dinks and lobs from Paul against tin smacking drives from Mark who was obviously trying to rival Hannah for most tins hit in a match. While in this respect he failed miserably he did manage to come out the winner in a close fought match. A good start to the season from Surbiton, and a good test of the strength or our tin on court one. |
