| Report: | What a night of high tension. The 2 gladiators (Mark and Gary) went on court before any one else could be bothered to turn up. Mark raced to a 2-0 lead before he needed the oxygen. Tom was next on against Paul,...who was obviously dreaming of the ski slopes before he came back to win 3-2. Carly (the token under 50 year old on show) then made her fitness count to beat Chris, and Dave rallied well to put Ray out of his misery. ....so picture the scene,...2 old rivals, match score 2-2 and the number 5's to play ....Dave and Rod who first met on court in 1879.(or was it 1990 ?). Dave stormed into a 2-0 lead only for Rod to claw it back,...the match lay in the balence,...the tension was rising ... Dave, knowing that a loss would incurr him a massive fine, managed to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory.
My thanks to Eric and all the Warlingham boys for such an enjoyable evening...looking forward to the return. |
