Report

Report: Another dire night for the Warlingham Woefuls. It started with a bad omen, as Cannons were all there - early. This is nearly always a bad sign. This had overtones of the English loss at Majuba hill, where after marking them out and picking them off the Boers went home to the wives for lunch. On at No. 5 again Sharapova, shrieked, yelled and grunted as per usual, but there were only groans from the balcony, as once again the tin got a total mullering. While Marc at No.4 did his headless chicken impersonation, running around in circles (fast ones, it must be said,) he was outdone by a much more experienced old rooster. Dave our resident bionic man needs more than his 2 artificial hips. On this performance his skipper will be booking him in for an artificial brain. However, Steve who was/is at least 6' 5" had his biggest problem avoiding our low heaters and getting through the back door. Ray once again flattered to deceive, springing up quickly like an early blooming daffodil, only to be completely crushed by a severe late frost. At No. 1 Eric did what he does best - he talked, and talked and talked, until Bobby was bamboozled and left spinning by all the verbal chatter. He should take a visit to "I'm confused.com". When informed later that Eric was registered disabled with two gammy legs and more than 30 years his senior he drowned his sorrows drinking double scotches all night, while his team mates put him on suicide watch and kept him away from sharp objects. Oh well another dire night, but we take comfort from the fact we are helping other teams get promoted, others gaining mid table respectability, and probably helping at least one team avoid relegation. Onwards and .. er, most likely downwards!
