Report: | Oh dear, we thought we were the whipping boys of this division, but sadly we couldn't even get that right. First up was Rod and Steve ( who has been mentally scared before in his many matches against Warlingham - he even lost one match when he never even played nor was down to play!!! Such are the stiff rules applied by our league computer.) Nevertheless the highly honed body of a bus pass pensioner proved too much for the beer sozzelled belly of a young athlete. Meanwhile Nick our blind disabled player had managed to lose his white stick and anyone who has a spare guide dog please contact us immediately. John for once turned up on time - big mistake as his opponent never really turned up at all. He was there on court but not with any shoes, racket or socks and no shots at all. Finally the old Octopus showed why experienced old long arms and legs will always get the better of young arms and legs. I am told the match was a wee corker. Shame I only saw the last few points, as a young man looked despairingly into the sky for help from above, but was only able to see a very low roof. It was tough on Ollie but at 6'4" and at such a young age, if he keeps on growing he'll be able to reach the roof soon. There are rumours he has been seeing our young lassie Hannah socially, which could account for her recent purchase of some very high heels! |
