Report: | Some rather quick matches, which allowed us to hit the bar early for once. First up was the beached whale in his never to be missed, bright shirt. He has finally found one that fits him. After a tight tussle the slimline tonic that was Rob,was unable to dance round the heavy blubber on court two and fell to Dave in 5. Meanwhile Eric was out of the traps like a whippet, while Adrian slumbered round the court trying to work out where he was. Finally, worried that he could become the next member of the Barry Fowler club, he focussed his sights on the ball, but it was to no avail going down in 4. Paul and Mark were rather quick, with Paul a little rusty, and being harried and hustled all the way by Mark, but not as quick as Mark and Gavin, who did not get their moneys worth last night. It looks like Mark and Gavin are no strangers to Big Macs and large fries! Paul and Dave had a wee ding dong for the final match, with some fine play and even finer arguments with the marker, which added to the entertainment on the balcony. Dave came out on top after a close game, giving Limpsfield the match 3 - 2. A good evening. |
