Report

Report:Good friendly game throughout. Rob and Gary went on first and Gary had a little edge which gave him the game. Whilst this went on James Wade (new member to Grafton) won convincingly against Johann. Peter Gray had a great game against Mick, whilst Eric vs Richard continued on court 2. Richard looked strong, but Eric was able to work the game well and take the lead.

2 a piece and Josh and James take the plate. An epic 3 games went on, each very close. A lot of sweat and running and James came out victor.

3-2 to Warlingham, a great game. A few beers afterwards to finish rounded off a nice evening.

Away Report

Away Report:Wow - we came for a squash match not a Torvill and Dean ice skating match, which was what we had on court two. Rob and Gary gave us their interpretations of a triple salcow, and Rob showed some lovely double loops, as a young man should, but still the old guy won out in the end. Richard was determined to enhance his single axel, on such an ice rink, but he was foiled by the pregnant hippo whose feet never left the ground and Eric managed to skilfully manipulate Rob the marker into giving him stroke after stroke. Methinks there will be ructions in the Grafton camp. Twas a skating rink, which the old guys glided over better than the young Turks. Meanwhile on court 3, Johan was playing like shite against the new Grafton ringer, and Peter, cunning old fox that he his, fairly raided an open hen house called Mick. James the Warlingham young rooster, grabbed a good win against Josh a far too polite player to ever ask for a let, thereby giving Warlingham the win. Highlight of the evening was the well prepared Grafton tennis honours board, bringing back memories of old for the Stevenson family, back in the late 70's. To think that 40 years later we are still winning, Murray Sutton, chairman - sort your club out!!
