| Report: | Another loss for the Warlingham Woefuls, which is 3 on the spin since Christmas. Close though and could have gone either way. First up was Dave v Mike which was always going to be tough given Mike's crafty shots. Meanwhile our Mike on court 2 was comfortable against a very rusty Conroy. Mike won more sets last night than he has all season playing for the 4's. Must be the inspirational team talk! Johann then went very close against our old friend David ( he of the crumpled shirts and wide ranging reputation). David sneaked it in the end with some fine serving. Marc did his usual headless chicken routine but was not quite able to get shots past/over/ around the octopus like D-H. Size 18 shoes we understand. Still Marc ran and ran, huffed and puffed, but the opponent would not fall down. Eric once again gave a lesson in verbal diarrhoea, while at the same time informing the marker how to do his job. Ian who came along for a game of squash didn't find one - all the found was just a fat old pensioner with a gammy leg, fiddling about, but he does play a good fiddle, as well as an awkward game. A good evenings squash against a decent bunch of guys. Good luck to Kingfisher on their promotion push. |
