| Report: | A fine win for the Warlingham Woefuls. First up was Gary V Rob and a useless lot of good they were. Luckily we are renovating our courts in the summer, so we can replace the tin on court two, into which they hit most of their shots. They were then followed by Nick and Andy who obviously were competing hard to see if they could rival the first strings, for the shitiest match of the evening. After a tight tussle the irresistible force went down to the immovable object and Nick gained his first win of the season. Marc's legs were in fine form against Dave's shots, and the young man came away with a comfortable win, while James's heavy hitting overpowered Rob's more cultured play, for a 3-0 win, but the match was closer than the score suggests. That left Eric and James to play out the final rubber, with the long arms and legs eventually going down, to the short drops, crafty play and the chit chat of the older man. A good evening all round. |
