| Report: | Well, everyone turned up and we got our 1st match under our belt! Team match was a new experience for several of our players - and it was acknowledged that it is a different level of stress from playing the same old names in league games/friendlies! Our no. 3, Matthew was our 'stand-out' player - 2-0 down coming back to win 3-2. Roberto was out of the blocks very quickly but John got more canny as the match progressed - well done John! Brian improved in each game and has suggested that we go to best of 17 rather than best of 5. At 2-2 I have to say I thought I was going to come 2nd to Nitin but managed to nick it - I suspect a hard 'revenge' match back at Dorking (and am looking forward to it!). I think we have a good team spirit - plenty of support for whoever was on court and I am sure we can build on a solid start. DL Farnham staff laid on a very nice curry which was received well by one and all! |
