Report: | In the battle for wooden spoon the Warlingham Woefuls came out on top by some margin. Going down - only question is just how far? First up were Rod and Matt. Matt, having being told not to give our resident bus pass holder a heart attack, did exactly the opposite. Went 2 - 0 down and then wore the old man down. Will this young lad never follow the script? Meanwhile on court 2, a rather interesting game took place. Not much squash but interesting nevertheless. It must have been a new competition of who could play the shitiest shots more often and Juan nice fellow that he is, took first prize. Dave and Robert had a topsy turvy match which involved some lethargic play and Dave with two metal hips proved the most lethargic, which meant Robert ran out the winner. So on to the preening peacocks at first string. Eric had an inkling he would be in trouble, as he watched Mark's stretching routine with the use of some very heavy rubber bands/bungs. Looked more like something out of Basic Instinct. So while Eric was re-living memories of Sharon crossing her legs Mark ran out a comfortable winner. He would have done anyway, far too classy a squash player, but good sport that he was, he tried to make a game of it, and failed miserably, to compete against the image of Sharon's legs. Despite the result, a thoroughly entertaining evening, from a good bunch of guys. We look forward to the return. |
