Report

Report: When Methuselah and his 4 older brothers turned up at Cheam, it meant only 1 thing ....Warlingham 3's were in town. The evening commenced with Julia playing Mike ...a "Sharapova" sound alike ... who grunted off the scale of any noise meter... however Julia, with ear plugs in, managed to secure a 3-1 win. Dave C found Tom in awesome form and with no remorse or sympathy, took the spoils 3-0. The match of the evening for entertainment value, was the Whirlybird verses the bus pass at 5 ... the match was closer than the score line suggested, but gave the watching crowd full value for the money they should have paid to watch. ....unlike the number ones who barely got a rally past 3 strokes. It was however heartening for the home team's non playing skipper, to see someone run around a squash court even less than he did (but probably with far more excuses.) The final match of the evening pitched our very own Pierre Luigi Hossack against Mark "Soft Hands" Fuller. The first observation was that words should have been said over the Warlingham number 2's dress sense on court ...talk about "blinded by the lights" .. regardless of the luminous orange kit, ..Never have I witnessed the caressing of a ball in such a sweet way since I last saw Quentin Crisp perform .... such gentle hands for such a big guy ! Mark took a convincing 2-0 lead ... not realising that he needed 3 games to win a match. Injury, fatigue, apathy and the bar calling, then took its toll allowing Andy to sneak a win. As always chaps, a great evening, great banter and looking forward to seeing you all soon.

Away Report

Away Report:What an end to a fantastic campaign. Objective of getting out of this division has been achieved with some distinction. Twas never in doubt.
Once again a good evening with the same old culprits of Cheam, good beer, good wine, good grub - less said about the squash the better, however we are wondering if Steve has a double, as the grumpy old git on court was totally different from the happy chappy who turned up at the bar. Wont be seeing you next year guys, and at our age we might not last until next year. Have told my team not to plan further ahead than Friday lunchtime, and check all premiums on insurance policies are paid!!!!.
