| Report: | An excellent and friendly match with Ashtead with, unusually, 4 rather decisive wins - but shared two each. Even stranger it was, on count-back, a perfect draw! Not unique though - that is a 2nd perfect draw for West Byfleet this season.
So let me set the challenge of the week - what are the odds of a specific team getting a perfect draw once in this league this summer? My quick "back of a bus -ticket" calc is that a perfect draw is around a 1 in 10000 chance...... making it 1 in 100 million to do it twice. Not surprisingly no team in this summer league (all 15 Divisions) other than ourselves and our opponents (Bourne and Ashtead)have played out a perfect draw.
Sadly, we may will not now win promotion but we are still obviously a very "special" team!
By the way ........... I'll have a word with Tim Stainton to see if we can't do something about the scoring system. I reckon we should have shared the points. |
