The latest version of the rules is now available.
For those of you with better memories than others, up till 2003 each league had it's own set of rules. The various rules were then combined and those rules were pretty much the rules that we have been working with for the last few years.
The reason for issuing a new set of rules is not actually because many rules have changed - in fact only one rule has actually changed, although one or two rules have been slightly reworded to clear up some confusions.
The main reason for the new rules is a change in format. A section has been added which lists additions to the rules, so it is quite clear where new versions differ, and also notes have been added where thought necessary. As the rules explain, these notes are not part of a rule but are there to try and explain the point of a rule, which always helps when interpreting it.
In this way, if issues arise, the notes may be updated even if the rule itself does not.
We also intend to log requests for rule changes on this site, or via the forum, so that everyone can consider the implications and these can be voted on at the AGM.
