Report: | James made marginally fewer mistakes than Paul on the big points and took the match handily. Paul moaned about his fitness, but I hear, James had plenty more in the tank!!
Andy Crisps rolled back the years particularly in the 4th where he saved 3 match points to draw level 2-2. Unfortunately, thereafter, his gasket was blown like an old Ford Anglia and he fell over 9-zip in the 5th.
Andy "Clint Eastwood" Wilde used every part of his old foxiness to claw back almost 35 years he gave to young Steve. Baffled by the sheer un-playability of the old gun slinger, Steve sank like a channel schooner in a swell.
Shane did the same with young Mr Fenton. A game riddled with the old hackers loose shots insufficiently punished.
While James perhaps rued not winning his 2nd game against Greg. He explained over tea that this could have been the result of his snapped Achilles earlier in the year. (Ahheemm)
A great match that could have swung either way that was topped off with Sausage, Egg and Chips, with Chocolate and Cheesecake for desert. Delicious. |
